An In-Depth Overview

Harris Bed Bug Killer

Best for: A liquid spray that can be used in a bed bug treatment regimen.

848 reviews with a 4.3-star rating

Price: $19.99-$53.34

Harris Bed Bug Killer has over 500 5-star reviews, and claims to kill “even the toughest ‘pyrethroid resistant’ bed bugs and eggs.” It’s known to kill infestations quickly, and can even be sprayed directly onto bugs. This is an EPA registered product that can be used to kill bed bugs for up to 16 weeks after first applying. It has an odorless formula that won’t stain or cause damage to the things in your home. It comes in various sizes from a hand-held spray to a bulk spray.

Harris recommends using this product as a:

  • Spot treatment on cracks and crevices
  • Direct spray
  • Mattress treatment

The instructions say to spray 8 to 10 inches away from an object and allow it to dry fully before any further application, or replacing bedding. They do not recommend using this on pillows, bedding, or clothing, and to only use it within the seams, folds, and edges of your mattress. They also recommend applying liquid sprays before any powers with silica or diatomaceous earth.

The spray can be used as a preventative and a killer product. Always read and follow the instructions of the product you’re using. Harris thankfully has plenty of resources and lots of information on how they recommend you use their products.

Some users found that the product does leave a slight smell after applying, and that it works better as a contact treatment. Many users also found that if you use this product in conjunction with another, you should bed bug free in a matter of weeks.

  2. Spraying the product on every nook and cranny of the bed.
  3. Treating the surrounding areas and objects with the product to create a protective barrier.

This product is not a pesticide, but a botanical-based insect neuron blocker. This means it works by attacking an insect’s nervous system until it eventually dies. It can be used in more sensitive environments like schools, healthcare facilities, and other public areas, and has only been known to cause minimal skin irritation in little to few cases.

This product leaves a pleasant woodsy smell and uses natural ingredients to protect and kill bed bugs.
